HEXICA’s How to Play video is now live!
Finally was able to get some time to put this video together and upload it to Youtube. It’s more of a teaser, really, as it doesn’t get into any of the specific mechanics of the game. That’ll come in another video soon.
Business meeting! …sort of.
I could never have cut it in the corporate world. But sitting around drinking coffee and brainstorming board games and technical design elements in a comfy apartment is definitely my style.
In a few days we’ll be releasing a preview video for HEXICA, explaining the components of the game and basically pitching it for anyone who’s looking for a new game to try out. It’s been over a year in the making, and showing publicly and getting ready for a release is really, really exciting.
As you might imagine, a board game goes through countless iterations before being produced and sold. I’ve actually lost count of what version this is, but if you count major rule changes and design variations, this is probably the 18th version or so. But with each version it got better and better, to the point that some of our early testers actually get together and have HEXICA game nights. It’s pretty cool to know that something you’ve created has that kind of a following.
Anyhow, stay tuned. We’ve got more to come soon!
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the pieces to my board game. Please note that this is an early prototype. Although it’s got a box, board, and all pieces needed for playing, things are still being refined, materials gathered, and some things are being completely redesigned. However, the game is ready to be played. I’ve already sent a few copies to testers who wanted their own after playing with me on my trips back to the States. We have also translated it into Chinese, which has been fun when playing with some of our friends over here.
I hope to be able to share more with you all soon!
